Job overview This is a new, key role in developing and maintaining high standards of care for women and birthing people suffering from grief/loss, trauma or tokophobia in pregnancy and the postnatal period and their families. You will contribute to the implementation of the new Maternal Mental Health Service for University hospitals Tees. You should be passionate about developing and moving the service forward in line with key recommendations, local and national agenda. You will have a high level of relevant expert knowledge and skills which you will use to develop, lead, and manage care for pregnant and new mothers with mental health needs, working alongside specialist psychologists and other healthcare professionals. You will be responsible for providing a service of extra support and care, working in partnership with maternity and mental health services. Care will be based on individual needs, and you will work closely with women and birthing people and families to ensure that psychological support from psychologists is supported by midwifery care in partnership. You will provide professional leadership and to work closely with existing specialist midwives and the wider maternity system to ensure women and birthing people in the Tees Valley region have access to high-quality maternal mental health care.
