The Estates Hard FM Team is responsible for the day-to-day repairs, PPM, and operational testing of building services and equipment in the Trust. The post-holder will provide technical leadership and strategic direction for engineering and infrastructure activities, including fire safety, across acute and community sites. They will oversee capital projects and backlog programs, ensuring standards, engineering excellence, and patient safety are prioritized, in compliance with statutory requirements and HTM/HBN standards, supported by a framework of Authorised Engineers, Persons, and Certified Persons.
We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible Head of Estates to manage the PFI Estate at the Royal London Hospital, providing operational maintenance across the Trust and associated properties. The ideal candidate will be proactive, a team player, with a thorough understanding of HTMs, ACOPs, BS & EN standards, and SFG20 standards related to healthcare building services.
Essential skills include managing statutory compliance (water hygiene, electrical systems, asbestos, fire management, medical gases, HVAC), managerial experience in maintenance and contractor management, and effective communication with clinical and non-clinical management. Financial management experience within an NHS setting and experience managing delegated budgets are also required. The role involves participation in an on-call rota, including out-of-hours work.
