Ambient Support, a registered UK charity with over 25 years’ experience in providing care and support services for older people, people with mental health needs, and people with learning disabilities.
The Role of our Registered Respite Manager
You will be responsible for ensuring the LD services are managed effectively and efficiently according to the service specifications and the aims and values of Ambient Support.

Key responsibilities of our Registered Respite Manager:
1. Coaching, mentoring, motivating, and supporting staff to deliver the commissioned support.
2. Ensuring all services provide a safe, clean, and positive environment for the people supported.
3. Implementing the values, ethos, and objectives of Ambient Support among staff.
4. Monitoring and managing safeguarding issues and promoting best practices for vulnerable adults.
5. Managing services within corporate strategies, including management information systems, rostering, and audits.
6. Managing staff performance and disciplinary actions as needed.
7. Supporting professional development through identifying learning needs and training.
8. Participating in on-call arrangements as required.
9. Involving people supported in service delivery and development, ensuring involvement plans are in place.
10. Ensuring health and safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
11. Assessing competencies of Service Leads and staff, ensuring leadership qualities are demonstrated.
12. Facilitating regular team meetings and open communication.
13. Monitoring comments and complaints, implementing improvements.
14. Undertaking additional responsibilities as assigned, including service development and project management.
15. Supporting governance, quality improvements, and audits.
Skills and attributes of our Registered Respite Manager:
* A Level 5 in Health and Social Care or Management or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
* Experience managing high-quality care services with full CQC compliance.
* Proven supervisory or management experience in care settings.
* Experience supervising, training, and mentoring staff.
* Experience with recruitment, motivation, disciplinary investigations.
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
* Effective motivation, engagement, communication skills.
* IT literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Teams, Forms.
* Ability to produce clear, concise reports.
* Reflective practice and use of supervision for improvement.
* Flexibility, self-motivation, and excellent organizational skills.
