Student Health Visitor – Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting)
Job Overview
As a Student Health Visitor with BCHCFT, you will undertake the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) (Health Visiting) Level 7 Course in partnership with Birmingham City University (BCU). Approximately 50 % of the course is delivered at university and 50 % in placement areas across the trust. The holiday schedule is fixed throughout the 52‑week duration of the course.
Responsibilities
* Oversee academic and practice placements and ensure their completion, working across BCHC and traveling to sites as required.
* Embed theory into practice and further develop communication, leadership, and reflective skills as an NMC registrant.
* Support and develop Student Health Visitors and welcome newly qualified Health Visitors into the teams.
* Operate as a car driver.
Qualifications
* Actively registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
* Valid driving licence and possession of a car.
* Current experience in a Band 5 clinical role (preferred).

Contract & Commitment
Before commencing training, successful candidates will be asked to sign a BCHC training contract covering the duration of the course, committing them to work within the Health Visiting service for a minimum period of 24 months post‑qualification.
