PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £24,600 - £31,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As the BBC's formal learning website, Bitesize helps millions of students to progress their education. Researchers are integral to the success of the teams delivering content. You will work closely with Bitesize Producers and Assistant Producers, and with teams across the wider Children's & Education department and Nations, to help deliver online, interactive, multi-media, educational resources for 4-16 year-olds.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
You will have a key role in the delivery of curriculum projects:
Primary English
You will support the Producers and Assistant Producers to deliver commissioned suites of digital learning content that include audio, podcasts, video, text, infographics, games and interactive activities.
You will conduct research into curriculum learning outcomes.
You will review and edit text, manipulate imagery and build webpages using a CMS.
You will create content that inspires and supports young learners in their formal education.
You will be a good team member and work positively with others to deliver excellent work.
Essential Criteria
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Digital content making skills: Practical experience of creating high-quality, digital content, including previous use of CMS's (e.g. iSite), video upload software (e.g iBroadcast), and image editing/creation software (e.g. PhotoShop, Illustrator, etc.).
Editorial skills: Able to conduct efficient research and distil findings into reports or recommendations. Confident use of written English and able to write and edit large volumes of text to a high standard. Able to apply editorial guidelines. Have practical editorial experience in making curriculum or learning content for children and applying appropriate editorial judgement.
Project management: Able to work within defined project-management workflows to deliver their elements of complex digital projects effectively.
Working with suppliers: Experience of commissioning infographics, and written content from specialist writers. Experience of engaging subject specialists as editorial consultants.
Audience focus: Understanding of the 5-16 audience, their diversity and their media habits. Able to initiate, set-up and run user-testing and/or audience insight sessions.

This role requires a relevant DBS check to be undertaken by the BBC at the appropriate level, at the point of offer of a contract of employment.
