A elderly lady from Glanamman requires a PA for 4 hours per week split between Tues & Thurs. Her first language is Welsh, she is happy to converse in both the Welsh and English language.
* Support with her personal care; she enjoys having a shower, however Personal Assistant should be mindful that she does not like water over her face.
* Offer a choice of washing method for the day (strip wash or shower).
* Apply prescribed creams as directed by the Pharmacy if required.
* Monitor her skin integrity and report any concerns to the most appropriate healthcare professional.
* Support with dressing and allow her choice.
* Prepare and serve meals and fluids of choice. Encourage adequate fluid intake. No disclosed concerns regarding swallowing or known allergies.
* Ensure she wears her lifeline at all times.
* Ensure used areas are clean and tidy before departure.
* Document all tasks and hours accurately.
Principal duties and responsibilities
1. Supporting with personal care
2. Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence
3. Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills
4. Provide companionship in the employer's home, including engaging in conversation and providing social interaction
5. Encourage the employer to attend appointments
6. Ensure the employer's safety at all times during working hours
7. Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by the employer during working hours
8. Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act
9. Be mindful of safeguarding issues and feedback any concerns to Carmarthenshire County Council immediately on (01267 228751)
10. Be responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance.
