Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Trade Assistant to join our team at our Plant Hire Depot in Horncastle. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our sales operations and enhancing customer satisfaction. This position requires strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and a knack for upselling products. As a Trade Assistant, you will interact with customers, manage inquiries, and assist in the smooth running of trade activities. The right candidate will familiarise themselves with all of our products from brands such as, Dewalt, Ox, Makita, Stanley, Sealey, Rubi, Milwaukee etc. As well as our tool/product range we also offer a full clothing/workwear range upstairs, stocking TuffStuff, dassy, Snickers and much more, which our ideal candidate would be in charge of controlling.

week 1 - Monday - Friday

Week 2 - Monday - Saturday

days/hours can be negotiated within reason.

Experience using a clothing embroidery & printing machine would be a huge advantage but not essential

Duties

* Engage with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
* Assist in selling products and services while effectively upselling where appropriate.
* Manage phone inquiries with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette.
* Maintain an organised workspace to ensure efficient operations.
* Utilise basic maths skills for processing transactions and handling cash.
* Communicate effectively with team members and customers, ensuring clarity and understanding.
* Support inventory management by tracking stock levels and reporting discrepancies.
* Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues on various tasks.

Requirements

* Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Excellent organisational skills to maintain order in a fast-paced environment.
* Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
* Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with diverse customers.
* Previous experience in plant hire/sales or customer service is advantageous but not essential.
* A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new challenges within the trade sector.
