đź“‹We're looking for SIA-licensed professionals who are British Nationals with a UK residency of 10 years+. You must be committed to and able to undergo DV clearance with our full support, before you can start in this role.
Location: Reading, RG1
Pay: ÂŁ22.77 per hour
Hours: 42 to 48 hours per week (working days, night and weekends, 4 on 4 off)
Grade: Site Based
Here’s what you’ll do:
* Conduct external and internal security patrols and carry out routine tests of security equipment. Provide traffic control and apply parking restrictions as required.
* Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
* Monitor systems, oversee Access Control & Camera Systems (Bosch, Lenel), investigate causes of fire alarm activations.
* Respond to alarms; address Access Control alarms using systems and cameras.
* Dispatch: use radio and other physical security equipment to dispatch and track Security Officers’ calls for requests. Operate 'stop and search' policies when required.
* Customer Service: answer calls and provide security services coordination with an outstanding level of customer service.
* Technical Support: identify and log Access Control malfunctions, raise tickets for equipment, systems, or facilities requests.
* Emergency Coordination: manage emergency incidents with Physical Security Officers, liaise with first responders, follow regulation policies and execute emergency SOC (Securitas Operations Centre) protocols.
* Maintain all logbooks and records, ensuring all paperwork is completed in a timely fashion and conduct effective handover procedures.
* Record and report all faults, health and safety hazards and unsafe working practices to management. Ensure any equipment provided by the customer and Securitas is managed in accordance with procedures.
* Provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring the safeguarding of the premises.
* Issue visitor/contractor passes and deal with lost property.
* Undertake any other duties as requested by Management.
Qualifications:
* Right to work in the UK with a 5‑year checkable history.
* Must hold British nationality and have lived in the UK for the last 10 years (required for clearance).
* Valid, current SIA license (DS/SG/CCTV).
* Full UK driving license with access to a vehicle.
* No current criminal convictions.
* Prior experience as a Security Officer in the security industry.
* Demonstrated full dedication and commitment to engaging in and completing the thorough DV clearance process.
* Proficient in report writing to document incidents clearly and accurately.
* Experience with surveillance systems is preferred; optional as training will be provided.
* Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
* Proactive approach to problem‑solving and incident management.
* Proficient in both speaking and written English; ability to convey information to a third party concisely.
* Strong IT knowledge, proficiency in using software, databases, and communication systems.
* Keen eye for detail and ability to identify and respond to potential risks.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to coordinate multiple teams and individuals.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage high‑stress situations effectively.
* In‑depth knowledge of CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems within a SOC environment.
Good to have, but not essential:
* CCTV license.
* Security Management experience.
