SEND Teaching Assistant – North Tyneside
Full-time | Long-term | £89–£110 per day | Start: September 2025
Support that makes a difference—right when it matters most.
We’re looking for a resilient, compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary provision in North Tyneside. The school works with young people aged 11–16 who’ve found mainstream education tough—whether due to trauma, social and emotional needs, or a breakdown in relationships at school.
Your role? To bring calm, consistent support that helps pupils rebuild confidence, trust, and belief in what they can achieve.
Why this role stands out:
* Be part of a skilled, supportive team that genuinely wants every learner to succeed
* Get the training and space to build strong relationships with pupils who need stability and a listening ear
* See real progress—both academic and emotional—every single week
Your day-to-day:
* Providing 1:1 or small group support across core subjects
* Helping pupils manage their emotions and behaviour in a structured, low-stress environment
* Supporting teachers to deliver a curriculum that’s flexible and meaningful
* Celebrating every step forward, no matter how small it seems
What we’re looking for:
* Experience supporting young people with SEMH, trauma, or behaviour needs
* A calm, steady presence with the ability to support emotional regulation
* Someone proactive, adaptable, and grounded in empathy
* A good sense of humour and patience to make school feel like a positive place again
