Data Analyst - Active SC Clearance
What you'll need to succeed
The role requires candidates to hold active SC Clearance, due to the nature of the data handled - candidates who do not hold active SC Clearance cannot be considered.
Due to internal temporary transfers, an Interim Data Analyst role has be available - the initial duration required is 3 months in a hybrid working environment (40%).
The successful candidate will:
1. Apply tools and techniques for data analysis and data visualisation
2. Summarise and present data and conclusions in the most appropriate format
3. Create and manage data assets and improve the health of our data catalogue
4. Manipulate and link different datasets for analysis
5. Create reporting dashboards or facilitate other teams toplete their own analysis work
6. Support others in their use of our data platform and troubleshoot issues
You will have the following skills:
7. Data management - understanding dataernance and how it works in relation to other organisationalernance structures
8. Data visualisation - using the most appropriate medium to visualise data to tellpelling stories that are relevant to business goals and can be acted upon present,municate and disseminate data appropriately and with influence
9. Statistical methods - understand how and when to practically apply existing best practice solutions, understand how to apply a range of techniques for the analysis of data and synthesis of findings
10. Data analysis software and tools - apply your knowledge and experience of tools and techniques supporting data analysis, including BI tools and statistical languages
11. Data modelling - produce data models and understand where to use different types of data models, understand different tools and canpare different data models, reverse-engineer a data model from a live system, understand industry-recognised data modelling patterns and standards
12. Data quality assurance, validation and linkage - identify appropriate ways to collect, collate and prepare data, decide if data is accurate and fit for purpose, prepare and cleanse data
The client uses Data Workspace as a platform. It was created in 2019 and now hosts over 40 billion rows of data from over 200 different sources as well as more than a dozen analysis tools. Options for tools include JupyterLab and RStudio, as well as lesser known tools like Amazon Web Services (AWS) QuickSight and Theia / Superset.
