QA Flooring Solutions are looking for a hands‑on Site Engineer / Shift Supervisor to take primary responsibility for our Log Moulder line. This is a key floor‑based role, combining engineering support and breakdown response with shift leadership of our UK Operator team. If you’re practical, calm under pressure, and enjoy keeping a production line running at its best — we want to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing
* Owning the maintenance and reliability of the Log Moulder line.
* Carrying out routine maintenance and reacting fast to breakdowns/emergency repairs.
* Understanding how each machine operates and keeping the whole line running smoothly.
* Optimising machine performance to achieve maximum output and consistent quality.
* Supervising the UK shift team and training new operators.
* Enforcing site safety standards and keeping the area clean and organised.
* Making small machine modifications/improvements and supporting continuous improvement.
* Helping install and commission new machines and upgrades.
* Reporting raw material stock levels to Purchasing for planning/order support.
* Liaising with Warehouse to ensure finished goods move efficiently.
What we’re looking for
* Proven engineering experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
* Strong fault‑finding and hands‑on maintenance skills (planned + reactive).
* Experience leading people on shift or supervising factory teams.
* Safety‑first approach and confidence enforcing standards.
* Able to balance production priorities with engineering discipline.
* Multi‑skilled (mechanical + electrical).
* Experience with lean/TPM/continuous improvement.
* Exposure to machinery installation/commissioning.
