Job summary

The opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a Senior HCSW to support children with complex health care needs. You will work in the community, at home or at school to provide practical nursing care for a child with specific healthcare needs and others presenting with a range of complex healthcare conditions, including life‑limiting/life‑threatening conditions. The post holder will be caring, compassionate, committed and ambitious for the team, able to work well on their own initiative and within a small team, and will be required to work unsocial hours, including a mixture of days and nights.

Dependent on experience you may be offered to commence as band 3 and progress to band 4 once competency is achieved.


Main duties of the job

* Deliver individualised care with parents of children with complex care needs under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and support the wider team of health professionals working in continuing care.
* Work well on own initiative and within a small team, fulfilling shifts mainly in unsociable hours and overnight.
* Previous experience in caring for a child who requires long‑term care package in the community is desirable, though full training will be supported by the service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
