Overview
Hanham Woods Academy is looking for a Pastoral Support Officer, who will promote and safeguard students' welfare and personal development. They will help to facilitate and encourage a learning environment, which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential and have a positive school experience.
Responsibilities
* A good understanding of safeguarding within an educational setting or transferable knowledge of safeguarding.
* Experience of developing and maintaining good relationships with students and having appropriate contact with families and carers of children.
* A keen interest in working with children and young people and a commitment to improving the life chances of students.
* Commitment to continuous improvement through professional development, self-evaluation, and awareness.
* Support the academy's ethos and mission as described: strive to help students climb the mountain and develop a confident, resilient and hard-working character.
About the school
Hanham Woods Academy is a secondary school located within the outskirts of Bristol and South Gloucestershire, delivering education to pupils aged 11-16. It is one of the most improved academies in the South West, providing an excellent education to over 800 students. The academy has a growing reputation both locally and regionally. Whilst we appreciate the unique setting in which the academy is placed, we work hard to challenge students from a variety of backgrounds to be the best they can be in all areas of life.
