Overview
Nestlings Care LTD are looking for Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) and/or Learning Disabilities Nurses (RNLD) with CAMHS experience to join our multidisciplinary team. As a qualified nurse, you will provide the highest standard of person-centred care and promote the best quality of life for service users.
Nestlings Care Ltd is an independent organisation registered with CQC and Ofsted to provide specialist residential placements for young people and young adults with mental health difficulties. We offer intensive, individualised community care with 24-hour mental health crisis management. We support young people and young adults with complex mental health needs who are not suitable for inpatient settings or who experience delayed discharges. We provide holistic care within the community to empower independence and a good quality of life.
Location and hours: Greater Manchester – with willingness to travel to homes. Hours: 9am–5pm, Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours (flexible working options considered).
Job responsibilities
* Ability to demonstrate good communication skills to promote and maintain relationships with young people, carers, placement teams, and stakeholders
* Develop transition, admission and discharge plans; follow up referrals and assessments for suitability
* Conduct mental health assessments using evidence-based knowledge and collate information for comprehensive case summaries
* Formulate care plans, risk management plans and psychosocial treatment plans
* Facilitate treatment planning with external agencies
* Knowledge of MHAct, Mental Capacity Act and DOLS
* Ensure timely and accurate documentation and maintain confidentiality within legal, organisational requirements
* Manage high risk and complex presentations with positive therapeutic risk management
* Establish therapeutic relationships with young people
* Undertake medication management, conduct audits and provide medication competencies to staff
* Work with wider multiagency professionals and commissioners
* Utilise strategies to enhance recovery for young people
* Participate in continuous quality service improvement and adapt to service changes
* Care planning, implementation and evaluation of care
* Inpatient experience desirable
* Newly qualified (Band 5) nurses considered and provided with extensive supervision from a Band 7 RMN
Qualifications and experience
* First level registration with ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills applicable to the post
* Demonstrable interpersonal communication skills with young people, carers, placement teams and stakeholders
* CPD, evidence-based treatments, and mandatory organisational training
* Out of hours on-call for crisis management on a rota system (1:4)
* Understanding of Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act; Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
* Documentation and confidentiality in line with legal, organisational and ethical requirements
* Ability to work with multiagency professionals and commissioners
* Continuous improvement mindset; inpatient experience desirable
* RCN registration maintained
