Senior Associate | Employment | London | 1,200 Billable Hours | Hybrid
My client has the largest dedicated Employment practice in the UK — and Employment isn't just a department here, it's the firm's core strategic pillar.
The team has recently surpassed £100m in revenue, handles the full spectrum of employment work at the highest level, and is genuinely one of the most respected practices in the market. This is a rare opportunity to join it.
The role
You'll act as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of employer clients, taking real ownership of your matters while working closely with an exceptional partner group. Day to day that means:
* Advising employer clients on complex advisory and strategic HR matters
* Managing Employment Tribunal claims and high-value litigation
* High Court work including restrictive covenants, team moves, injunctions and confidential information disputes
* Transactional support including M&A, TUPE and restructuring
* Cross-border and multi-jurisdictional employment matters
* Advising on senior executives, reward, global mobility, trade unions and Irish/Northern Irish employment law
* Supervising junior lawyers and building direct client relationships
Why this role is different
* 1,200 billable hours — one of the lowest targets in the London market for a firm of this calibre. This is real, not aspirational
* 3 days from home, 2 in office — genuine hybrid working
* Employment is my client's bread and butter — you'll be doing complex, high-quality work consistently, not occasionally
* A culture built around collaboration, ambition and genuine investment in people — lawyers here actually enjoy what they do
* Clear progression in a team that develops and promotes from within
About you
* 5–8 years' PQE in employment law
* Strong employer-side experience across both advisory and litigation
* Confident advising clients directly and managing matters independently
* Ambitious, commercially minded and ready to take real ownership
