Overview
We are partnering with a newly launched Credit Hedge Fund backed by one of the most prestigious hedge-funds globally. This high-profile fund is looking to add a Financial Controller to the team ahead of further growth to aid in the development of their finance functions. Being a young and relatively small firm, they have a lean team and hence will initially be a very hands on role.
Responsibilities
* Support everyday tasks such as financial/management accounting (under IFRS), budget and forecasting, overseeing bookkeeping across different jurisdictions, and regulatory reporting.
* Work directly with the COO, influencing the development of the infrastructure for the hedge fund and taking ownership of developing the accounting systems.
* Lead on managing the firm’s outsourced service providers, review third-party work, and teach them the fund’s standards and processes.
* As the firm grows with aggressive targets, contribute to evolving the finance function and its complexity over time.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified candidates with a minimum of 8 years total experience (must be qualified).
* Prior experience working at a hedge fund is highly desirable; experience within another financial services firm is required.
* Audit experience is a plus.
