OLG Recruitment is currently hiring a Control Systems Technician for a client in Immingham. This contract role is initially for 12 months, with potential for extension. Working hours are from 08:00 to 16:00, with options for core hours between 09:00 and 16:00 or a flexible Friday schedule (08:00-17:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:00-15:30 on the first Friday, and the second Friday off).
Job Function
A member of the Industrial Information Systems team, reporting directly to the Head of Industrial Information Systems, responsible for maintaining industrial control systems.
Responsibilities
* Promote safe working practices by complying with refinery safety requirements, participating in incident investigations, creating risk assessments, and conducting safety audits. Complete corrective and preventative actions promptly.
* Assist in preparing, proposing, and reviewing maintenance plans within budget constraints.
* Complete corrective actions on time and to quality standards as per MyCompliance Incident Report.
* Provide technical support for control systems to operations and maintenance teams, and mentor apprentices.
* Maintain safe operation, backups, and recovery of all Operational Technology (OT), including DCS and PLC systems.
* Manage workload for OT systems, including maintenance and projects.
* Raise permits, notifications, work orders, and purchase requisitions within CMMS as needed.
* Contribute to CMMS close-outs and BOM creation by recording appropriate history.
* Prepare modifications under site Management of Change (MOC), proposing improvements for process control systems.
* Ensure safety of refinery assets through Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), adhering to IEC61508/IEC61511 standards.
* Assist with spare part management, including identification, selection, and repair spares control.
* Support cybersecurity measures for industrial networks, following IEC62443 standards.
* Consult with manufacturers and lead or assist OEMs and vendors on-site.
* Participate in T&I and shutdown planning and execution, providing out-of-hours support as needed.
* Manage T&I work scope, scheduling, and ensuring long-term system reliability.
Qualifications
Minimum: ONC/OND in a relevant engineering discipline. HNC/HND preferred. Over 5 years of experience in IIS or C&P discipline, with refinery control systems knowledge. Understanding of networking and cybersecurity for OT is desirable.
