Job Overview

To carry out tasks requested by the Engineering Team Leader & Engineering Manager, or any member of the INX Management Team, working in accordance with INX health & safety, environmental waste management, and quality management policy.

The role oversees the operations of the engineering department, dealing with any issues that arise from the breakdown of process equipment. It requires adhering to an already installed preventative maintenance system, carrying out PMs and looking for areas of improvement from an engineering aspect to increase machine efficiencies and reduce downtime as well as working on small in-house engineering projects.

The role may require you to think on your feet as you deal with unplanned breakdowns, so resilience to overcome issues in a calm manner is required. There is a need to demonstrate commitment to our values and business goals as well as being flexible, innovative and team focused.

The role holder will need to be able to work 40 hours a week (Monday to Friday) rotating on a shift-based system – Early Shift 6:00am to 2:00pm Late Shift 1:20pm to 9:20pm. Additional paid callout cover will be required up to 12:00am midnight when working the late shift. Overtime will be required to suit business needs.

Duties and responsibilities

* To follow all H & S, Quality and Environmental requirements in line with Company instructions, policies and manuals.

* To be responsible for both electrical and mechanical engineering maintenance issues around the factory.

* Undertake planned maintenance, breakdown repair and condition monitoring activities of plant and equipment.

* Attend and contribute to regular team meetings (some of which will occasionally be outside of your normal working hours)

* Proactively identify and implement improvements to operational machine and resource efficiencies whilst considering the impact on other departments. Promoting a continuous improvement of culture across the site by working in conjunction with production on daily operational engineering related issues.

* Identify creative ways to reduce costs by streamlining processes and systems

* Responsible for individual performance measures and objectives set during annual appraisals

* Responsible for ensuring that a clean, tidy and hazard-free working environment is maintained to defined standards

* Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol.

Experience - Essential

· Good understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

· Demonstrated experience as an electrical maintenance technician.

· Physically capable of lifting 25kg.

· ONC Electrical Engineering.

· Knowledge of CMMS Software.

· Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, PLC's, hydraulics and pneumatics.

· Knowledge of Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Regulations.

· Panel building Electrical services installation.

Pay: £38,000.00-£41,000.00 per year
