Senior Project Manager (12-month fixed term contract)
Salary: Please be aware that these positions will offer a higher salary compared to permanent roles due to their status as Fixed Term Employees. Consequently, these roles demand a greater level of capability and substantial experience that aligns with the expectations of the position.
Location: Flexible – Offices in Swindon, Fareham, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and London

Here in Operations at Zurich, we are passionate about our people and our customers which is why we are expanding our change team significantly over the next year. As a result, we are looking for a number of new Senior Project Managers to join us on a fixed-term basis.
As a fixed-term Senior PM with Zurich, you will be involved in the most challenging, critical projects across our Life or General Insurance Businesses. We are presently recruiting for multiple immediate opportunities in the following areas:
* Strategic growth and business development in particular HR and TOM change
* IT Risk Remediation / technical focussed delivery
* Regulatory Must-Do’s in particular Operational and IT Resilience change
You are expected to contribute value right from the start by bringing a skill set comparable to that of a "contractor." The positions will offer a hybrid working arrangement, combining work from home with time spent at our main or satellite office locations in the UK.
What will you be doing?
* Understanding and interpreting business objectives, goals, and targets into tangible deliverables that are balanced and sustainable after the project ends.
* Working collaboratively with other areas of the business and the customer at the heart of your focus. Driving activity, understanding deliverables, and meeting challenging timelines.
* Collaborating with internal and external suppliers to achieve value for change activity, producing the Business case and benefits plan with the project sponsor.
* Managing change confidently, dealing with conflict and resolution, often hinging on critical dependencies. Responsible for planning and delivering projects aligned with the business’s long-term plans.
* Managing heads of Business stakeholders from multiple functions.
* Adopting the best approach to meet business goals, including formal project methodologies like Agile or Waterfall.
* Providing leadership, advice, guidance, coaching, and direction to project team members.
* Sharing best practices and experiences to maximize department effectiveness and efficiency.
* Troubleshooting issues affecting projects, implementing remedial actions, and developing quality plans.
* Working within a governance framework, providing controls and reporting on project progress, benefits, and achievements.
* Supporting implementation and training activities, including transfer into BAU operations.
What are we looking for?
* Significant experience at the Senior PM level; these roles are not entry-level.
* Proven delivery of IT and business change projects, managing multiple senior stakeholders.
* Management of all stages of the delivery lifecycle, from initiation to post-production support.
* Understanding of IT and digital technology, with high financial & commercial awareness.
* Delivery of medium to high complexity projects with budgets over £1m.
* Experience managing or delivering through multiple third-party suppliers, including large incumbents and niche vendors.
* Knowledge of project management tools like MSP, and experience with delivery methodologies such as Waterfall and Scrum.
Project Management qualifications (e.g., Prince2 or PMI) and a background in Financial Services are beneficial. We prioritize the right talent to help develop and grow our business.
