The Exciting Role
A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our dedicated Engineering team, on a part-time, permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be primarily based at Nelson & Colne College but may be required to travel across sites.
What You Will Be Doing:
1. To maintain a safe working environment for students and staff at all times within the designated areas of the Technology section
2. To carry out stores counter duties during all lessons in the workshop including: Issuing equipment, materials and other consumables to students Cutting and preparing materials for issue to students Servicing/replacing, cutting and hand tools to a set schedule Calibrating gauges and measuring equipment to a set schedule
3. To comply with our Health & Safety and Risk Management procedure, including completing regular checks and servicing of tools and equipment
What We Are Looking For:
4. 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C or above
5. Level 3 qualification or equivalent in an Engineering subject
6. Must demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and be receptive to training opportunities to promote self-improvement and technical skill base
7. Ability to follow work schedules unsupervised
8. Ability to organise stores
9. Knowledge of safe working in an engineering environment
10. Experience of servicing of machine or hand tools
