If this sounds like you, we would like to invite you to apply for our new Clinical Lead role within our Children and Young Peoples Community Nursing Team based in Brighton and Hove.
You will be key in clinically leading a multidisciplinary Children and Young Peoples Community Nursing Team that engages across multiple health care partners. You will contribute to the clinical development of the Team, whilst prioritising specialist practice effectively to support the demands of the Service, focusing on the health and wellbeing of children on the caseload.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership, supporting the Team Lead, Matron and General Manager to ensure smooth clinical delivery of the service.
* Develop and deliver high-quality, safe, clinical nursing care to children and families on the caseload in collaboration with the Team Lead.
* Manage and co-ordinate the day‑to‑day operational nursing, personnel and performance of the team.
* Lead and support the team in the discharge process, maintaining high standards of written and verbal advice to children and families.
* Support workforce planning and recruitment, including budgetary responsibilities and resource allocation.
* Implement and review clinical policies, guidelines, care standards and performance data to enable optimum service delivery.
* Lead on change management, research and audit projects, and maintain accurate, compliant records.
* Coordinate safeguarding and patient safety processes in partnership with senior management.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered children’s nurse with a BSc/MSc in Community Health or equivalent.
* Experience in a clinical leadership role within children’s community nursing.
* Proficiency in teaching, mentoring and supervision of junior staff.
* Strong knowledge of clinical audit, service evaluation and evidence‑based practice.
* Ability to develop and implement policy, protocols and educational materials.
* Experience in planning, managing and coordinating programmes of care in collaboration with allied health, social, educational and volunteer agencies.
* Excellent understanding of children’s communication, physical wellbeing and emotional needs.
* Full UK professional registration and current valid driving licence.
