Role Overview
An opportunity is available for an experiencedmissioning Manager to support a major, high‑security infrastructure programme within the nuclear defence sector. The role sits within aplex construction environment and will play a key part in bringing specialist plant, systems, and building services safely into operation.
This position offers exposure to a technically demanding project where robustmissioningernance, stakeholder coordination, andpliance with regulatory requirements are critical to success.
Key Accountabilities
1. Provide guidance on safe systems of work relating tomissioning and testing activities.
2. Take responsibility for the planning, coordination, and delivery ofmissioning work packages within a large, multi‑discipline programme.
3. Ensuremissioning activities align with nuclear regulatory requirements, including recognisedmissioning procedures and ONR Licence Condition 21.
4. Support the development and implementation of the overallmissioning approach and strategy for the project.
5. Oversee the preparation, review, and acceptance of supplier test plans, procedures, and supporting documentation.
6. Coordinate and managemissioning and testing activities with equipment and system suppliers.
7. Integratemissioning activities, dependencies, and prerequisites into the master project schedule.
8. Contribute to construction planning to enable a phased handover of systems in support ofmissioning.
9. Monitor and report progress againstmissioning prerequisites and supplier delivery.
10. Attend and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) as required.
11. Manage and resolve test failures and non‑conformances, ensuring appropriate close‑out.
12. Capture andmunicate lessons learned through formal reports and presentations.
13. Coordinate suppliermissioning activities with parallel testing, installation, andpletion works.
14. Implement and managemissioning stakeholder engagement plans.
15. Ensure consistent application of approved procedures and safety controls across allmissioning activities.
16. Produce and present regularmissioning status updates to key stakeholders.
17. Manage changes impactingmissioning programmes, resources, and forecasts.
18. Lead and chairmissioning‑related reviews, including design, procedure, and change reviews.
Candidate Profile
19. Extensive experience deliveringmissioning activities for large,plex facilities, including leadership ofmissioning teams.
20. Demonstrable success working on major projects within defence or similarly regulated technical environments.
21. Strong ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
22. Sound understanding and practical application ofmissioning principles and methodologies.
23. Clear, confidentmunicator with strong organisational capability.
24. Key behavioural attributes include leadership, adaptability, self‑drive, collaborative working, and sound judgement.
25. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
26. Holds a full UK driving licence.
Qualifications
27. Degree‑educated or equivalent professional experience.
Security Requirements
28. Holds Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance, or is prepared to undergo the necessary clearance process.
