Job Summary
Practice Development Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner - Theatres
We are seeking to recruit a dynamic motivated individual to join the Theatre educational team. The successful individual will have a pivotal role in delivering Trust Objectives and ensuring that the care delivered within this specialty reflects the Trust Vision and Values. The successful candidate must have the ability to provide positive mentoring/coaching and development to the clinical teams within all theatre specialities and act as a role model in all they do.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be an experienced registered Nurse/ODP with a qualification in mentorship or training, positive teaching style, interest in education, and a good understanding of the Peri-operative Departments. This role would be specifically supporting ODP Students, Newly Qualified Staff, Existing Scrub Practitioners and Theatre Support Workers. In developing and teaching best practice around the Surgical Scrub Role. If you are a dynamic, energetic, enthusiastic Nurse/ODP we would love to hear from you.
The role will be predominantly clinical, with allocated time to complete administrative tasks.

Person Specification
Essential Education, Training, and Qualifications
* NMC/HCPC Registration
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
* Teaching/mentoring qualification
Knowledge and Experience
* Post-registration experience in theatres
* At least 2 years post-qualification perioperative care experience
* Experience in mentoring, assessment, and audit
* Ability to deliver training and work effectively both independently and within a team
