The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and accounting principles, with proficiency in various accounting software.
You will be able to hit the ground running and offer support to the Head of Group Finance. The Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and compliance with regulatory standards.
Main Duties and responsibilities
* Prepare and run the weekly and monthly payroll for the Group
* Assisting with bank reconciliations
* Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
* Ensuring we are compliant with HMRC and Pension Regulator
* Balance sheet reconciliation and maintaining supporting documentation
* Weekly budget reporting for the group
* Detailed cost analysis
* Assist the Head of Group Finance in cash flow management
* Conduct regular audits of financial data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions
* Oversee petty cash and carry out audits in the homes.
* Produce supplier remittances
* Create reports using Excel, Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50 Payroll
* Manage the accounts mailbox and process supplier invoices, statements and queries in a timely manner
* Use AutoEntry to process all supplier invoices
* Assist the Head of Group Finance with VAT Returns
* Take on additional tasks as assigned by the Head of Group Finance as required
* Willingness to assist and support colleagues as needed
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience as an Accountant with a strong understanding of financial services and management
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for complex spreadsheet management
* Proficient in accounting software such as Sage 50 and Sage Payroll
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all colleagues across the Group
* Committed to completing tasks promptly while ensuring accuracy
* Work independently, excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Full Time hours per week
We will also consider applicants looking for part time hours
Hybrid with 2/3 days in the office ( once you pass your probation)
Salary is dependant on experience
