Job Description:
Lawyers MUST be UK-based and qualified in England & Wales.
A large national UK charity has an excellent opportunity within its property team for a senior (8+ PQE) lawyer. The role can be performed completely remotely, with the option for office attendance if preferred.
My client is looking to appoint a senior commercial property lawyer to assist the head of team with day-to-day management and to supervise two junior team members.
You will:
* Lead on complex property transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, leases, easements, licences, and agreements involving the charity's land.
* Advise on commercial property transactional matters, including L&T, development, utilities, and infrastructure.
* Draft, review, and negotiate documentation like contracts, transfers, agreements for lease, leases, overage provisions, options, and utilities agreements.
* Mentor and support junior team members, ensuring best practices and professional development.
* Manage external lawyers and counsel as needed.
* Identify and mitigate risks related to property matters, complying with policies and Charities Act obligations.
* Ensure compliance in delivering legal advice across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have substantial post-qualification experience, strong technical knowledge of land law, L&T, development, and infrastructure-related property matters. Excellent drafting, communication, and negotiation skills, along with a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach, are essential. Ability to quickly gain credibility and buy-in from stakeholders at all levels is required. An interest in environmental matters is also desirable.
Benefits include a basic salary of up to £55,000 per annum, an excellent benefits package, and a collegiate, remote working environment with optional face-to-face meetings annually.
