ADMINISTRATIVE & SUPPORT OFFICER (Maternity Cover)
* 18.5 hours per week (Monday – Wednesday)
* Grade: 6, SCP 24 – 30 (£37,374 - £45,313 pro-rata)
We are seeking to recruit to the post of part-time Administrative & Support Officer on a maternity cover basis. The role is working in a busy environment where you will be the initial point of contact for external/internal bodies and members of the public. You will occasionally provide cover for the other Council reception points when required. SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
1. 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths. Grade C or above or equivalent
2. Experience in an administrative role or similar post
3. Excellent telephone manner, good organisational skills and experience of working with the general public, face to face and via the telephone with the ability to respond appropriately and helpfully
4. Excellent team working, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
5. A flexible approach and the ability to deal with changing priorities
6. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, innovative and capable of working under pressure
7. Ability to work effectively, independently and a part of a team
8. ICT Literate
Desirable
1. An interest in marketing and event management
2. Experience of local government
3. An understanding of the operations and functions of a local authority
4. Political sensitivity
