Working for one of the largest companies in its field you will be involved in a project that is an integral part of the ongoing improvements of this site. This project's target completion date is December 2027. As the Managing Quantity Surveyor will oversee the commercial and contractual management of projects from inception through to completion. This role involves leading a team of quantity surveyors, ensuring financial control, minimising risk, maximising project profitability, and maintaining strong client relationships. Your key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the commercial performance of multiple projects or a major project. Provide strategic commercial input and contractual support throughout the project life-cycle. Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans. Ensure accurate cost reporting and value reporting on a regular basis. Manage procurement processes, including subcontractor negotiation, tendering, and contract administration. Monitor and control project cash flow and valuations. Assess variations, change orders, and claims, ensuring timely resolution and recovery of costs. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim and final accounts. Provide mentor-ship, support, and supervision to a team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Surveyors. Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to build effective working relationships. Attend project meetings and provide commercial insight and updates. Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field. Chartered status (RICS or equivalent) preferred. Minimum of 8-10 years of quantity surveying experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or managing role. Experience working on [infrastructure/residential/commercial/civil engineering/etc.] projects. Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT, FIDIC). Proven ability to manage and develop teams. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Strong financial acumen and analytical skills. Proficiency in cost management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
