Salary: Up to £49,000 based on your skills and experience

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Senior Combat Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of naval technology. Your responsibilities will include:
* Collaborating with the Technical Lead to create and refine complex designs and compartment layouts that meet specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
* Supporting ongoing Installation, Set to Work, and Trials and Acceptance activities.
* Investigating System Obsolescence for ship-installed parts.
* Developing and maintaining your skills to provide technical support across various design disciplines, while continuously improving practices and processes.
* Assisting in the production and maintenance of design artifacts to ensure Combat Systems compartment layouts align with design intent.
* Resolving technical issues during Installation, Setting to Work, and Trials activities.
* Applying Systems Engineering and Lifecycle Management Processes to ensure design viability.
Your Skills and Experiences:
Essential:
* HNC/HND in an engineering or scientific discipline, or equivalent experience.
* Understanding of the System Engineering design lifecycle.
* Experience in System Physical and Functional Integration during the design, build, commissioning, and acceptance phases in a highly regulated environment.
We encourage engineers at all levels to possess an academic qualification in Engineering or related STEM subjects, and to pursue recognition as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through a recognized professional institution. Support for achieving relevant accreditation will be provided.
Desirable:
* Experience in the design/integration of Engineering Systems, particularly Combat Systems in a Naval environment.

The Combat Systems Physical Integration Team:
Join the Type 26 Combat Systems Team, where you will be involved in the full ship lifecycle across multiple platforms. Our work encompasses a variety of systems, including:
* Gunnery and Guided Weapons
* Communications
* Sensors (Above and Below Water)
* Shared Infrastructure
* Navigation
From early concept and compartment ownership to commissioning, sea trials, and final acceptance, our team tackles technical challenges and manages obsolescence to ensure systems remain effective and integrated. Together, we are crucial in delivering the Royal Navy’s next-generation Type 26 Frigates.
