Our client is involved in supplying and subsequently maintaining a wide range of control systems to multiple manufacturing industries. Expansion has been rapid in recent years and they want to capitalise on their existing order levels and high volume of enquiries with the appointment of an additional Internal Technical Sales Engineer. Your role as Internal Technical Sales Engineer will be to manage in-bound customer enquiries and use your technical knowledge of control systems and systems integration, along with sales skills, to provide advice and support on their range of solutions. This could range from a small project to solve a particular problem (where, effectively, you're selling expertise from the design team on a day rate, after scoping out the amount of labour needed) through to being involved on the ground floor with multi-million pound new projects to buy new capital equipment (projects that could take years to come to fruition, and require hundreds of hours of research before even deciding which avenue it is best to take).
You'll assist colleagues with bids and tenders for new clients from a technical perspective. The emphasis of the work varies depending on the level of technical knowledge needed to sell a particular product or service.
