Job summary

Are you a qualified, NMC registered, Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) Health Visitor or a student SCPHN Health Visitor, qualifying in the next few months ?

Main duties of the job

We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive practitioners with strong initiative and a passion for contributing to the continuous development of our service. You will work in close partnership with Children and Family Centres, schools, and other key agencies to ensure a holistic approach to care.

We have within Waltham Forest excellent opportunities within our 0-19 team for innovative and motivated Health Visitors who are keen to contribute to the further development of our service.

We have excellent partnership working with Waltham Forest Public Health Service, Primary and Secondary Schools, and General Practitioners to enable the Best Start in life and optimisation of health outcomes for children and young people.

About us

Tower Hamlets GP Care Group (the Care Group) was incorporated as a community interest company limited by shares in September 2014. Every general practice in Tower Hamlets owns one share of £1. The Care Group was formed to manage borough level contracts on behalf of the practices, deliver primary care led services and support general practices, and to be the provider voice of primary care in the wider health and social care system.

The Care Group is also a member of Tower Hamlets Together, a place-based integrated partnership, which includes Bart's Health, East London NHS Foundation Trust, the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and the Council for Voluntary Services.

Experience Essential
* Experience of ensuring that clinical practice is based on sound evidence and audit.
* Experience of quality improvement processes.
Desirable
* Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment.
* Experience of specialist knowledge with reference to child development, perinatal mental health, child protection.
Knowledge Essential
* Knowledge of key developments in children's services.
* Knowledge of the requirements of CQC.
* Ability to understand, implement clinical governance principles and process including risk management, audit & public involvement.
* Understanding of key professional nursing issues and strategy documents.
