Overview
We are currently recruiting qualified nurses to work in our busy theatre department which covers a wide range of specialties including general surgery, trauma and elective orthopaedics, oncoplastics, breast, gynaecology, obstetrics, ENT and oral maxillofacial surgery. Our scrub teams have the opportunity to learn new skills and procedures in a supportive, professional, safety-oriented environment. In return for your commitment, enthusiasm and dedication we will provide you with the technical skills and one-to-one support from our dedicated Practice Education team. Regular skills training is provided around our audit time, alongside the opportunity to gain a mentorship qualification, to support our student nurses and ODPs in their learning. An annual appraisal will enable you to direct your own learning and professional interests. Responsibilities
* Join a theatre team focusing on scrub duties across multiple specialties and support safe patient care.
* Engage in regular skills training and participate in audit activities; pursue mentorship qualifications to support learners.
* Participate in annual appraisal to direct your own learning and professional interests.
* Contribute to a supportive, patient-centered environment aligned with the organisation's values.
* Be flexible to respond to change and organisational needs, including variable hours over a 24-hour day and weekends.
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous scrub experience is essential.
* You must be highly motivated with a forward-thinking attitude and be able to join an innovative and proactive team.
* For career pathways, you could be a registered nurse with current NMC registration, a qualified Operating Department Practitioner with HCPC registration, a Student Nurse, or a Student ODP.
* A 12-month secondment would be considered for internal applicants; seek approval from your current line manager prior to applying.
Additional Information
* Due to the nature of this role, there is a requirement to work flexible hours over the 24-hour day, including weekends and an on-call rota.
