Senior Project Manager | Stepps, North Lanarkshire (Hybrid) | Full Time – 35 hours per week, with core hours of 10 am–12 pm and 2 pm–4 pm, and flexibility outside these times | £42,578 per year, with opportunities for progression What will your role look like? As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of complex environmental water improvement projects, with a particular focus on the Water Environment Fund (WEF) portfolio. You will help create sustainable, greener places that deliver long-lasting environmental and social benefits across Scotland. Key responsibilities include: Leading client-side management of WEF and other environmental projects from feasibility to delivery Overseeing procurement and contract management (NEC4, PCS compliance) Managing project risks, quality, budgets, and schedules throughout the lifecycle Coordinating design and technical inputs from consultants, contractors, and partners Providing accurate progress, financial, and risk reporting Building strong relationships with SEPA, local authorities, funders, communities, and stakeholders Supporting Project Managers and Officers in project delivery Championing best practice and continuous improvement Ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and environmental standards Promoting a culture of safety, completing and overseeing risk assessments for site-based work Sharing project outcomes, learnings, and insights via reports and presentations Are you the right person for the job? Essential Requirements To be successful in this role, you must have: 5 years’ experience in project management (environmental, civil engineering, capital projects, or similar) Knowledge of Scottish regulations, environmental policy, and compliance requirements Experience with public sector procurement & tendering, particularly NEC4 and Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) Proven experience managing budgets, reporting, financial oversight, and risk management Strong stakeholder management experience (e.g., SEPA, local authorities, landowners, funders) Excellent communication, negotiation and reporting skills Clean UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (site visits required) Competent IT skills, with a willingness to learn SharePoint Experience working with contractors, consultants, and multi-disciplinary teams Ability to work proactively, stay organised, and keep multiple projects on track Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Preferred Experience / Background Civil engineering or environmental project delivery background Experience working with government agencies, councils or national programmes QGIS experience (beneficial) Experience with Sage (beneficial) What’s in it for you?
