1:1 EHCP/IEP Teaching Assistant - Barnoldswick Alternative Provision (October Start)
About the Role
Are you a resilient and compassionate professional with a knack for building rapport with young people? We are looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support to a student with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or Individualised Education Program (IEP) at our Alternative Provision in Barnoldswick.

This is a highly rewarding position for someone with experience in challenging environments.
Responsibilities
* Provide individualised support to a student, helping them to access a tailored curriculum.
* Implement the strategies outlined in the student\'s EHCP or IEP, focusing on both academic progress and personal development.
* Use de-escalation techniques and a trauma-informed approach to manage challenging behaviours.
* Build a strong, trusting relationship with the student to support their social and emotional well-being.
* Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and external agencies.
* Monitor and record the student\'s progress and report back to the lead teacher and SENCO.
What We\'re Looking For
* Essential Experience: Proven experience as a teaching assistant or youth worker, specifically with young people who have challenging behaviours or special educational needs.
* A strong understanding of the principles of Alternative Provision.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and patient under pressure.
* An understanding of EHCPs and IEPs.
* A resilient and empathetic nature with a commitment to making a positive impact on a student\'s life.
