Client Service Manager – Leading 6-Director Independent Firm - Luton The Firm Are you an ambitious Accountant looking for a role that balances technical complexity with a genuine path to Director level? This isn’t a firm where you’ll be a "small cog" in a machine; it’s a place where you will manage a significant £750k portfolio, lead a dedicated team, and work directly with Directors to shape the future of the firm. The Role As a Client Service Manager, you will act as the primary point of contact for a diverse portfolio of audit and non-audit clients, predominantly SMEs and owner-managed businesses. Key responsibilities include: Portfolio Management: Overseeing a varied portfolio with expectations of up to £750k, ensuring high-quality delivery of statutory accounts and audit assignments. Technical Review: Reviewing statutory accounts prepared under UK GAAP (FRS 102/105) and, where applicable, IFRS. Audit Leadership: Planning, managing, and reviewing statutory audit assignments from inception to completion. Team Development: Leading, supervising, and mentoring staff, including seniors and trainees, while taking an active role in recruitment and performance appraisals. Tax Advisory: Providing proactive advice to limit tax liabilities across corporate and personal tax, while identifying planning opportunities. Business Development: Assisting partners with business development and identifying opportunities for additional client services. The Person Qualification: ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent). Experience: A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience (PQE) within a UK accountancy practice, including audit. Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and UK auditing standards. Leadership: Proven ability to manage multiple clients, meet deadlines, and provide constructive feedback to junior staff.
