Planning Manager –
(Transmission & Renewables)
Location: Nottinghamshire (Hybrid working)
The Opportunity
Blueprint Recruitment are working with an established infrastructure delivery business who is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to support the successful delivery of complex Overhead Lines (OHL) projects within the electricity transmission sector.
This organisation operates across critical national infrastructure, delivering essential energy services that support communities and the transition to a low-carbon future. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with a mix of office, site, and remote working.
The Role
As Planning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and managing project programmes across major OHL schemes. You will work closely with Project Managers, commercial teams, and clients to ensure programmes are robust, realistic, and aligned with contractual and performance requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing, managing, and maintaining detailed project programmes using Primavera P6
* Providing programme analysis, progress reporting, and KPI performance metrics
* Integrating cost and schedule data to support CPI/SPI reporting
* Supporting tender planning activities and pre-construction input
* Attending site, client, and stakeholder meetings as the planning lead
* Embedding best-practice programme management standards across projects
* Ensuring compliance with relevant ISO and OHSAS standards
* Promoting a strong planning culture aligned with safety, quality, and delivery excellence
About You
You will be a confident and commercially aware Planning professional with experience delivering major infrastructure projects, ideally within Overhead Lines or Electrical Transmission.
Key requirements:
* Significant experience in construction or infrastructure project planning
* Strong knowledge of the OHL / Electricity Transmission sector
* Advanced experience with P6 scheduling
* Solid understanding of cost-loaded programmes and reporting
* Working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts, particularly change control
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Experience leading and developing planning teams
* Financial and commercial awareness
* Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationally
