Site Engineer – Galliford Try
Location: Southampton
What you will be doing:
* Assist the Site Manager in the initial site set-up, actively installing Galliford Try systems and procedures
* Rigorously apply effective planning techniques, method analysis and controls to ensure the most effective and continuous use of resources
* Ensure method statements and risk assessments are appropriate for work being carried out
* Responsible for developing the construction element within the Project Execution Plan (PEP)
* Coordinate site setting out to satisfy contract programme requirements, delegating or carrying out setting out as necessary
* Ensure standard Galliford Try procedures are adopted in carrying out setting out operations
* Ensure that effective methods of communication are used in transmitting information to operatives and subcontractors
* Maintain accurate record/sketches of setting out
* Check all subcontractors setting out
* Set out the works to company standards and contract programme requirements, ensuring effective communication with operatives and subcontractors
* Actively lead and monitor the quality of the works in conjunction with the Test and Inspection Plan and maintain as-built records
* Assist the site management team to engender the HS&E culture to meet GT’s targets and expectations
* Adhere to all GT’s Business Management Systems
* Compile data and records to assist the Site Agent and commercial team to monitor resources utilised and determine activity costs
* Interact with design team where appropriate
* Ensure 4 Projects is used as document management system
About You:
* SMSTS
* First Aid
* Preferably confined space trained
* Preferably Temporary Works Supervisor
* EUSR Water Hygiene trained
* EUSR 1 & 2 USC
* Civil Engineering background, preferably with a contractor in the Water Industry
* Minimum of 5 years site construction experience
* Setting out experience
* Good command of written English to produce and review Risk Assessments, Method Statements and other relevant documentation
