SLR’s Process Engineering team are growing and looking to recruit an experienced engineer to focus on the delivery of technical due diligence projects in renewables and waste treatment technologies, experience in biogas and anaerobic digestion would be beneficial. The successful applicant will join an established team that continue to excel in the sector and will provide input and support on a wide range of interesting and challenging technical due diligence projects including new and innovative technologies. The successful applicant will work independently and within a team to deliver projects. You will lead the delivery of projects in the UK, Europe, Africa and other global regions reporting to the internal Project Director. Opportunities will be provided to allow you to act as a project manager, write proposals and manage clients and the interface with clients, funders and contractors. We work with many other disciplines across SLR and on different projects in terms of their length and complexity.We provide clients with expertise on technical due diligence of single assets, portfolios, buy side, sell side, and refinance project.**About the role** As a Process Engineer specialising in technical due diligence, you will play a critical role in evaluating the technical feasibility, performance, risks, and performance of renewable energy and waste projects. Your expertise will support investment decisions, project development, and operational optimisation, ensuring that all processes meet regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.You will work with others in the process engineering team and other disciplines across the business including the Advisory, Environmental Management and Compliance, Land and Water and Environmental Specialist Services Groups on a wide variety of different projects. Your key responsibilities will include:* Project manage technical due diligence projects and be the key point of contact for clients and internal team member.* Assess process design, technology selection, and operational data of target assets or projects.* Review engineering documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, equipment specs).* Identify technical risks and mitigation strategies.* Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.* Review CAPEX/OPEX estimation and lifecycle cost analysis.* Collaborate with project developers, investors, consultants, and regulatory bodies.* Lead the review of third-party designs, technical proposals and operational models and writing technical due diligence reports for funders;* Prepare and present technical reports and findings to internal and external stakeholders.SLR are global leaders in Sustainability Solutions, helping our clients achieve their sustainability goals.
