We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Teacher to join our thriving early years team in Hitchin, starting as soon as possible. This role offers an incredible opportunity to shape the learning and development of children aged 3–5 in a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Why Our Nursery?

Our nursery prides itself on providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can flourish. We are committed to the principles of early years best practice and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, promoting holistic development through play, exploration, and hands-on learning.

Our team is highly collaborative, professional, and supportive. We value innovation, creativity, and reflective practice. Staff are encouraged to develop their skills, contribute ideas, and lead initiatives that enhance learning and wellbeing.

Parents and carers are active partners in our nursery community. We work closely with families to ensure that every child feels valued, secure, and inspired to reach their full potential.

About the Role

As a Nursery Teacher, you will take responsibility for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality learning experiences that support all areas of children’s development, including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. You will create an engaging and welcoming classroom environment where children feel confident, safe, and motivated to explore.

Your role will include:

* Supporting children’s personal, social, emotional, and communication development

* Observing and assessing children’s progress, using these insights to inform future learning

* Working closely with teaching assistants and support staff to provide high-quality, differentiated learning

* Building strong relationships with parents and carers to support learning at home

* Promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

* Contributing to wider school initiatives, staff meetings, and professional development activities

This role is perfect for an early years practitioner who is passionate, creative, and committed to nurturing the very youngest learners in a dynamic, professional setting.

* Is skilled at planning play-based and structured learning activities

* Understands child development and the EYFS curriculum thoroughly

* Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Can inspire, motivate, and engage young children through creativity and innovation

* Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and child wellbeing

* Works effectively as part of a team and contributes to a positive, collaborative culture

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners are both encouraged to apply. We are committed to providing professional support, mentoring, and career development opportunities for all staff.

Working with us, you will benefit from:

* A supportive and collaborative early years team

* Enthusiastic, well-behaved, and curious children

* Opportunities to develop professionally and attend training in early years education

* A modern, well-resourced nursery environment

* Strong leadership that values staff wellbeing, creativity, and innovation

* The chance to make a real difference in children’s first years of education
