Who Will You Work With:
Our client is a well-established player in the manufacturing industry, known for producing high-quality plastic components. Based in Blackpool, UK, you will work closely with the engineering and production teams to enhance and optimize injection moulding operations.
About the Role:
As an Injection Moulding Consultant, you will be responsible for analyzing and improving existing injection moulding processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure consistent product quality. You will also play a key role in supporting new product development and guiding the selection of appropriate materials and tooling strategies.
This is a -month on-site contract role based in Blackpool, UK, with strong potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Optimize existing injection moulding processes to improve cycle times, reduce material waste, and increase efficiency.
2. Evaluate mold designs for manufacturability and suggest improvements to ensure quality and cost-effective production.
3. Recommend suitable materials based on application needs, durability, and cost.
4. Troubleshoot process issues related to machine performance, material behaviour, and tooling.
5. Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the consistent production of high-quality parts.
6. Identify cost-saving opportunities, including reducing energy consumption and scrap.
7. Provide hands-on training and guidance to production staff on best practices in injection moulding.
8. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure new product designs are optimized for manufacturability.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
9. Strong expertise in injection moulding processes, materials, and machinery.
10. Experience in mould design, analysis, and optimization.
11. Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and familiarity with tooling design.
12. Solid problem-solving and analytical skills.
13. Knowledge of quality control procedures and standards relevant to injection moulding.
14. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally.
15. Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
