About The Role

We are recruiting for an Intermediate Content Designer to support our mission. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team combining data, design, product, delivery, analysis and engineering to deliver bespoke digital services that make a positive and meaningful impact on organisations and society.
Your Role in a Nutshell
* Write and iterate clear, concise content for digital services, ensuring it follows style guides and accessibility standards (WCAG).
* Participate in user research and use findings to map out content journeys that reduce user effort.
* Collaborate with interaction designers to decide on the best format for content (e.g., text, video, toolkits, or interactive components).
* Facilitate "content crits" to gather feedback and ensure high standards across the team.
* Manage end‑to‑end content production, from initial draft to stakeholder approval and publishing.
Essential Experience
* Proven experience in content design or copywriting within an Agile delivery environment.
* Ability to take complex jargon or legal requirements and simplify them for a general audience.
* Experience using evidence from user research and web analytics to guide content decisions.
* Strong understanding of accessibility and how to write for screen readers and neurodivergent users.
Desirable Experience
* Experience working on public sector projects following GDS (Government Digital Service) standards.
* Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML.
* Experience contributing to a content community of practice or style guide development.
