Overview
The role of the Senior Social Care Worker is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst ensuring the highest level of care and leading by example. You will liaise with the seniors in the home reporting any matters of concern. You must have experience in the care sector and be willing to learn and expand on your knowledge. You’ll help make a difference in people’s lives while enabling them to enjoy activities and live safe, happy and fulfilling lives.
Base pay range
Hours: 24/48
Salary: £12.85 to £13.05 Hour (A higher range is offered to applicants with qualifications in health and social care)
The role involves shift work and weekends on a rota basis. If you need more flexibility, Choice Care offers a range of flexible positions to fit around individual commitments.

Key duties
* Taking the lead with supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment
* Supervising a team and assisting with the overall management of the home
* Liaising with managers and other shift leaders
* Executing tasks allocated in a professional, timely and accurate manner
* Supervising and sharing mealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining
* Assisting residents in their daily activities whether this be in or away from the home
* Using your initiative when supporting residents during their activities and with day-to-day tasks

Being patient, reliable, flexible, a team player and a good communicator are key characteristics of a successful Senior Social Care Worker.

Where will you work?
Boxgrove House is a large, detached home supporting up to 11 residents with varying ages and needs. It sits in its own grounds in Tilehurst, near Reading, with access to local shops, pubs and local transport. The home has two vehicles and regular community trips and activities.
