The Role
The Cash and Banking Controller is responsible for ensuring the cash management of the properties is managed in an effective and timely manner, in accordance with Client requirements and RICS Client Monies regulations.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure that all Cash and Banking services are delivered to a high standard and meet the service levels required by the Client;
2. Monitor and allocate cash received, identify source funds, and ensure all sums are posted to the correct accounts within 24 hours of receipt. Resolve unidentifiable items, review and clear bank reconciliations;
3. Ensure payments are made promptly and that bank account balances are never overdrawn;
4. Collaborate with surveyors, Clients, and team members;
5. Manage cash and banking software, including file outputs and inputs;
6. Support contractual compliance across the team, including adherence to SLAs and KPIs on behalf of BNPPRE;
7. Continuously improve processes for market-leading financial management, in line with legislation;
8. Work with management to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and control of daily tasks;
9. Act as the principal contact for Clients, surveyors, and relevant parties regarding cash and banking services;
10. Ensure services are delivered per contract agreements;
11. Manage client monies in collaboration with team members;
12. Ensure all Quality Assurance reviews are completed and signed off before issuance;
13. Assist with internal and external audits of financial procedures and controls.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Working towards a recognized cash and banking or accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA) or qualified through experience; not essential but beneficial.
* GCSE qualifications including Maths and English.
Experience / Person Specification
* Experience in cash allocation, source fund identification, posting to correct accounts within 24 hours, resolving unidentifiable items, and bank reconciliation;
* Experience in delivering services per contractual agreements;
* Experience in client monies management;
* Experience in conducting Quality Assurance reviews;
* Assisting in internal and external financial audits.
