Job Summary
Band 6 Occupational Therapist – a proactive, enthusiastic practitioner to support the Elderly Medical Team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, London. The role offers a career ladder within an integrated rehabilitation service, with autonomy and high‑standard intervention across specialities.
Main Duties
• Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for elderly and frailty settings.
• Work autonomously as an independent practitioner, applying advanced clinical reasoning for individualised, proactive, holistic care.
• Supervise unregistered staff and educate Occupational Therapy students on placement.
• Support and develop rotational Band 5 Occupational Therapists.
• Lead quality improvement projects and contribute to team innovation.

Person Specification
Essential
* B.Sc., M.Sc. or Diploma in Occupational Therapy (fast‑track options available)
* Health & Care Professions Council registration
* Basic kitchen hygiene certificate
* Current driving licence
* Clinical experience as a junior occupational therapist
* Experience in diverse clinical areas – post‑acute, frailty, and elderly settings
* Very good knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, cognitive and perceptual functions
* Proficiency in assessment and treatment techniques with ability to delegate workload
* Organised approach to clinical and managerial work
Desirable
* Ability to supervise under‑graduate occupational therapists
* Positive approach to data collection, audit, and quality improvement
