Overview
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist / Clinical Lead to join our acute directorate at Great Oaks Hospital in Scunthorpe. The role combines clinical leadership of the Occupational Therapists in the acute pathway, with clinical work within the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHTT).
The CRHTT in Mental Health Services is recruiting a highly motivated Band 7 Occupational Therapist to drive the development of the Occupational Therapy pathway within CRHTT. This role includes Clinical Leadership of the occupational therapy team on the acute adult and older people wards and the clinical delivery within CRHTT.
You will support the ward OT team clinically by leading and developing OT delivery across bands 5–6, rotational OTs, OT apprentices, and OT assistants, and contribute to quality improvement projects to enhance the inpatient experience for service users.
Main duties
The post is varied and challenging and offers the opportunity to be an integral part of the acute pathway. Key elements include leading the development of recovery and occupation-focused interventions, refining the CRHTT occupational therapy pathway, providing clinical leadership to junior staff (Band 6 & 5 OTs, OT apprentices, OT assistants and support staff) and delivering training to the team in CRHT and the acute wards.
To work effectively as a member of the pathway, providing an appropriate range of assessments and treatments for patients experiencing an acute mental health need. To plan and implement short-term and/or group interventions in collaboration with patients. You will be accountable for leading and delivering high-quality occupational therapy care within a defined clinical area or pathway and for providing expert clinical practice with advanced clinical reasoning. Provide clinical leadership and supervision to support and develop staff, lead evaluation and development of clinical practice, and apply Best Practice Principles for CRHT and acute services to clinical practice.

Qualifications
* Diploma / Degree in Occupational Therapy
* Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Practice Placement Educator Qualification
Experience
* Significant post-registration experience with demonstrable senior-level experience in mental health services or relevant to the specialty area
* Supervisory and/or management responsibility for staff
* Documented evidence of continuing professional development
