Job Summary
We are looking for a confident and motivated Senior Healthcare Support Worker to deliver high-quality, person-centred care in a hospital setting.
The role involves a range of delegated clinical tasks such as patient observations, cannulation, phlebotomy, administrative work and others. The post holder will work with the clinical haematology team to support the rapid development of the day unit, ensuring all patients receive effective, compassionate and efficient care.
About the Unit
Services offered include blood transfusions, exchange transfusions, iron infusions, infusions for other haematological conditions, venesections and blood tests. Patients include those with sickle cell disease, thalassemia, immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), haemophilia, haemochromatosis, anaemia and clotting disorders.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* Completion of Care Certificate or equivalent
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills (English and Maths GCSEs or equivalent)
* Evidence of ongoing personal development
Desirable Qualifications
* Level 2 support worker apprenticeship
Essential Experience
* Demonstrable experience of working in a clinical healthcare setting
* Experience of dealing with the public
Essential Knowledge
* Awareness of health and safety at work (e.g., manual handling skills, infection control measures)
* Ability to collect and exchange factual information and data to the multidisciplinary team and ensure data accuracy
