The social services accountancy team is looking to recruit a self-motivated accounting technician with strong analytical skills, who can communicate complex financial information to non-finance professionals.
The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of budgets and year-end accounts for the adult social services division and support budget holders to manage their budgets effectively.
The postholder will be in regular contact with a full range of Local Authority officers and officers from other public sector bodies to offer advice.
You will be responsible for line management of staff on a day-to-day basis, overseeing workloads and providing advice and guidance.
Qualifications:
* An Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or equivalent qualification, OR a relevant Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
* Conversant with a variety of IT applications including Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Experience acquired within a financial post.
* A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business/work purposes to attend scheduled appointments and meetings.
