Hays Education is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support 2-to-1 sessions with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)at a weing and inclusive primary school in Bridgwater. This part-time role is set to begin in September 2025and will run on a fixed-term basis, with the potential for extension. You will be working 3 days a week, providing tailored support to pupils who require additional help to access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom.
Your new role
You’ll be working closely with two pupils who have identified SEND needs, offering individualised support to help them engage with learning activities, develop social skills, and build confidence. You’ll collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and adapt learning materials to meet the pupils’ needs. This is a highly rewarding role for someone passionate about making a difference in children’s lives.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Experience working with children with SEND, ideally in a school setting
2. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning
3. Strongmunication and teamwork skills
4. A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
5. Eligibility to work in the UK
