Overview
The post holder will liaise with all Key Members of the multidisciplinary team and service users relating to the breast screening speciality. They will provide assistance to the Consultant Surgeon and Radiologist in the Breast screening unit during biopsy procedures and clinical examination.
An opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Clinical Assistant to join a renowned multi-professional team with a reputation for clinical excellence. This is a rewarding role with support for professional development. This post is 37.5 hours per week, from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
You will have the opportunity to develop your existing knowledge and skills and be encouraged to attend relevant courses.
Responsibilities
* Preparation and checking of equipment prior to biopsy procedures.
* Chaperoning patients during consultation and clinical examination.
* Preparation of procedure trolley for ultrasound biopsy/punch biopsy.
* Application of dressing following biopsy procedures in accordance with aseptic technique.
Person specification / Qualifications
* Experience and knowledge of working with patients.
* Evidence of relevant personal development.
* Knowledge of the NHS Breast Screening Programme.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* The ability to prioritise, work independently as well as within a team.
* IT and data inputting skills.
