Position: V&V Technician
Location: South Wales
The Role:
As a V&V Technician, you will be responsible for performing verification and validation activities on rolling stock components and systems. You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure that all products meet the required standards and specifications. Varying shift patterns with an uplift on pay rates for nights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct verification and validation activities on rolling stock components and systems
- Perform functional and performance tests on various rolling stock equipment
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues or defects in the products
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop test plans and procedures
- Record and report test results accurately
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on potential improvements
- Support the production team in resolving any technical issues during the manufacturing process
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in V&V techniques
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 + in Engineering or a related field
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the rail industry
- Strong understanding of verification and validation processes
- Familiarity with rolling stock components and systems
- Knowledge of testing equipment and procedures
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
