Position Summary
Skilled and detail-oriented Technical Build Technicians in our modular construction team. This role involves precision measuring, cutting, machining, assembling, and finishing of structural components to deliver high-quality modular units. The successful candidate will work across a range of technical processes including CNC machining, steel and aluminium fabrication, welding, and jig assembly, ensuring all parts are prepared and built to exact specifications. All specific training will be provided by Podular Systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Measuring & Cutting: Accurately measure and cut all materials (steel, aluminium, and other components) using saws and precision tools.
* Steel Frame Construction: Assemble and build steel SFS (Steel Framing System) structures to required specifications.
* CNC Machining: Operate CNC machinery to cut, drill, and machine aluminium extrusions.
* Parts Preparation: Label, organise, and prepare all components for assembly, powder coating, and galvanising.
* Jig Assembly: Carry out full jig assembly for individual modules, including flooring, roofing, insulation, and structural alignment.
* Logistics & Handling: Safely lift, move, and position completed pods for storage and transport.
* Quality & Safety: Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality control, and compliance with all health and safety procedures.
Skills & Experience
* No previous modular building experience required.
* Strong technical ability with measuring, cutting, and assembly.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and build instructions.
* High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
* Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills.
* Willing to work hard and bring value to the team.
Working Conditions
* Workshop and site-based environment with hands-on fabrication and assembly.
* Manual handling and safe use of lifting/transport training will be provided.
* PPE provided and adherence to company safety standards essential.

Pay: From £12.50 per hour
